As you can see from the table, there are many differences. But the main differences are the number of axles and augers.
The number of augers determines the shape of the tractor trailer itself. BNP-20 has the shape of an inverted pyramid. This is done so that the harvested crop, under the force of gravity and its own weight, is fed to the reloading auger. But, such a shape makes the reloading hopper large in overall dimensions. Accordingly, it makes it impossible to move this technique on public roads. It can only be transported on a trawl with a special permit.
Unlike BNP-20, the new model has 2 augers – horizontal and vertical. This allowed the developers to maintain the volume of the body, at the same time, to make the dimensions smaller in width. This allows the tractor trailer to travel on public roads.
Also a different number of axles. There is a constant discussion among specialists how many axles are better to have. According to our observations, single-axle trailers are best used in areas where there is an extensive network of irrigation canals, since the storage bunker passes them “easier”. Biaxial BNP, according to our observations, are more suitable for working in fields that are on slopes.
