Main characteristics of the BNP-16 grain transfer wagon

The BNP-16 grain bin has relatively compact dimensions (length – 6.88 m, width – 2.5 m, height – 3.67 m), which allows this specialized machinery to be transported on public roads without the need for special permits. These small dimensions do not affect the bin’s functionality, allowing it to transport loads weighing up to 14 tons. The body volume is 16 cubic meters.

The grain transfer wagon is easy to operate, which makes it possible to maneuver confidently even on narrow road sections. Due to its unloading height (ranging from 3.97 m to 4.82 m), several unloading methods are available, including tipping (dumping).

The grain transfer wagon features a tandem dual-axle suspension with leaf springs and torque rods, ensuring stability and smooth movement on the road. Furthermore, the 2.16 m wheel track contributes to stable operation even on rough terrain. The machinery is also equipped with 11.75×22.50 disc wheels with 385/65R22.5 tubeless tires, which provide excellent road grip.

The BNP-16 bin is equipped with a hydraulic/pneumatic braking system powered by the tractor’s system, ensuring reliable braking even when transporting the maximum load allowed for a dump truck (14 tons). It is also worth noting that this type of brake system is characterized by less wear due to even pressure distribution.

Operational technology

During field operations, the BNP-16 grain bin moves in parallel with the harvesters. Thus, the harvesters can continue their work while transferring the harvested crop into the bin until it is completely filled. Once the bin is full, it is transported to the edge of the field, where the collected grain is transferred into a grain truck.

The bin is moved across the field by a tractor with a minimum power of 120 hp. Grain intake from the harvesters and its transfer into grain trucks are performed using special augers.
